Karukatha (কারুকথা) – Pure Cotton Handloom Saree (Kantha Style)

Karukatha is a story told through colour, pattern and craft.

Woven in pure cotton, the saree features a soft dusty-rose body scattered with delicate white motifs. An olive-green border, framed with fine white lines, introduces an earthy contrast to the muted pink, creating a palette that feels both graceful and distinctly handcrafted.

The pallu makes a more dramatic statement. A rich vermilion-red ground is adorned with intricate white motifs inspired by the visual vocabulary of Kantha, interspersed with rhythmic geometric bands and fine linear detailing. The transition from the understated body to the richly patterned pallu gives the saree a wonderful sense of movement.

The combination of dusty rose, olive green, white and vermilion creates a palette that feels rooted in Bengal’s tradition of folk art while remaining wonderfully contemporary.
